For Dental and medical practices
AI chatbot for medical and dental practices — appointment, FAQ, after-hours
Your practice's phones close at 5pm. Your website doesn't. Patients with insurance questions, appointment requests, or "are you taking new patients?" inquiries arrive overnight and weekends. Ashh.ai answers them — from your real practice content, with appointment-request capture, no PHI stored.
Trained on your real practice content
Upload your service pages (cleanings, fillings, crowns, specialty treatments), provider bios, insurance accepted, office hours, location info. The bot answers patient questions accurately, citing your real pages.
Appointment-request capture (not booking)
Bot collects appointment requests — patient name, contact, preferred provider, urgency, reason — and emails your front desk. Avoids direct calendar integration (which would touch scheduling = PHI under HIPAA). Front desk follows up to confirm.
Insurance + new-patient screening
Configure your accepted insurance carriers. Bot answers "do you take [carrier]?" accurately. For new patients, captures basic eligibility info (carrier, new vs returning) and routes to your intake workflow.
HIPAA-aware by default
Bot does not solicit, store, or transmit PHI. Configured to defer ("for clinical questions, please call the office or message via the patient portal") on anything substantive. Suitable for the public-facing layer of your website, not the patient portal.
Questions Dental and medical practices ask
Is this HIPAA-compliant?+
Public-website chatbot, not a patient-portal substitute. We don't solicit or store PHI. For HIPAA-covered interactions (post-login patient portal, clinical messaging), use your EHR's native messaging system. Ashh handles the public-facing FAQ + appointment-request surface.
Does it integrate with our EHR (Epic, athenahealth, Dentrix, etc.)?+
Lead handoff via email or webhook to your front-desk inbox. Direct EHR integration is not in scope — that'd cross into PHI territory. Workflow: bot captures appointment request → emails front desk → front desk enters into EHR.
Can it actually schedule appointments?+
It captures requests, not bookings. Direct calendar integration (Dentrix, Open Dental, Epic) is intentionally out of scope (PHI territory). For now: requests in, front-desk follow-up out. Direct Zocdoc/SimplePractice integration is on the Team-custom roadmap.
What about Zocdoc / Healthgrades reviews — can the bot leverage those?+
You can include review excerpts in the bot's knowledge base (upload as text). The bot can cite "patients rated us X on Healthgrades" when relevant. Direct Zocdoc API integration is not yet supported.
Can it answer in Spanish + other languages?+
Yes. Multilingual out of the box. Critical for practices serving Spanish-speaking patients — visitor asks in Spanish, bot replies in Spanish, captures their info in Spanish.
